Frequently Asked Questions about cleftRock

What is provided in cleftRock cabins?
All cleftRock cabins have sufficient bed linens and towels to cover the maximum occupancy. The kitchens are stocked with all the dishes, pots, and pans necessary to cook and serve a meal. We provide enough trash bags, dish washing soap, paper towels, toilet paper and hand soap for a weekend stay. You may need to bring extra of these supplies if you are staying longer and have a full cabin.

Is there WiFi access?
There is WiFi in Fields Cabin and in Brookfield Lodge. Our other cabins do not have internet. If you are staying in a cabin without WiFi and need access, please let on-site staff members know, and they will let you use the Lodge.

Can I bring my pet?
No. We love our pets too, but pets are not permitted on property.

Is there a large meeting area for groups?
Brookfield Lodge is our dining and meeting center. It can be reserved for private use for a separate fee.

Where is the nearest grocery store?
There are great grocery stores in London, Berea, Somerset, and Richmond. If you are coming from the north on I-75, you can stop at Meijer in Richmond or Walmart in Berea. If you are coming from the south on I-75, you can stop at Kroger or Walmart in London. All these stores are at least 30 minutes from cleftRock.

Where is the nearest hospital?
cleftRock is 30 minutes from the nearest hospitals.

Does cleftRock provide meals?
We can provide meals for groups of 10 or more in our Brookfield Lodge dining and meeting center. The cost of a meal is $15/person (subject to change). Please contact our staff to talk through any meals that your group may want to add.

Can cleftRock accommodate dietary restrictions and/or food allergies?
We do our best to provide a variety of options with our meal plans, however, we have a small kitchen and staff and cannot accommodate serious food allergies. If you have a food allergy, please bring your food with you.

Does cleftRock provide any programming for guests?
At the present, cleftRock does not provide any programming for retreats. However, if you would like some guidance with a personal, family, couples, or group retreat programs, we are happy to assist you in finding the resources that fit your needs. We are connected with many wonderful teachers, leaders, counselors, prayer warriors, and coaches who could help you get the most out of your quiet time away with God.

Is there hiking on the property?
Yes! There are several trails that you can hike on cleftRock’s property as well as on the adjoining Roots and Wings Farm (RWF). All cleftRock guests have permission to hike the RWF trails, provided they have signed the cleftRock Rental Agreement with waiver. There is a trail to the Rockcastle River which is approximately 1.5 miles from the Lodge.

For additional hiking, boating, and outdoor recreation, Red River Gorge is 2 hours away; Cumberland Falls and Lake Cumberland are 1 hour away.

What are cleftRock’s rental fees?
Reservations require a $100 deposit/property made by credit card or check to guarantee your reservation. There is a $35 fee for returned checks.

What is cleftRock’s cancellation policy?
Any rental fees paid are refundable (minus a $30 processing fee) if the reservation is canceled at least 30 days prior to arrival date.

When are check-in and check-out times?
Guests may check in after 3pm and must check out by 10am. If you would like an earlier arrival or an extended departure, please let us know, and we will be happy to accommodate you if we are able.

May we bring extra guests?
Each cabin has a maximum occupancy. No additional guests are permitted above occupancy limits.

Is alcohol or tobacco permitted on property?
cleftRock is an alcohol-free campus. Tobacco products of any kind are prohibited, as is smoking and vaping.

Are there fire pits and/or fireplaces for use?
cleftRock has designated campfire spaces, and some of our cabins have fireplaces. We can provide firewood for a fee, or you are welcome to bring your own. Please contact the property manager if you would like to build a fire. We enforce all local burn bans.

Is there a grill on property?
Yes, there is a propane grill at the picnic shelter that is available for guest use. We provide the propane.
